Five auspicious days of Diwali, is the prime time of the year to welcome happiness and joy with the illuminating light.
This is also the peak period to bring major shifts in our lives by offering prayers to Maa Lakshmi, Shri Narayan, Lord Ganesha & Lord Kubera & receiving blessings in the form of Health, Wealth, Happiness, Prosperity & Abundance.
1- Diwali is celebrated on the fifteenth day of the Hindu month of Kartika.
Diwali also plays a significant role in Sikhism.
2- The word Diwali means “the row of lighted lamps (diyas)” in Hindi.
3- Diyas light the houses; fireworks illuminate the skies and rangoli decorates the outside Hindu homes. They do this to attract Lakshmi, the goddess of good fortune.
4- The festival also marks the return of the Lord Rama and Sita after completing fourteen years in exile.
5- Idols of Lord Ganesh and Goddess Lakshmi are placed side by side for the prayers and rituals. Goddess Saraswati is also placed in Pooja as she is the goddess of Knowledge, Music, Art, Speech, Wisdom, and Learning.
6- The foundation stone of the Golden Temple was laid on the day of Diwali in 1577.
7- The celebration of Diwali as the “victory of good over evil”. Diwali is the celebration of this Inner Light over spiritual darkness, knowledge over ignorance, right over wrong, good over evil.
